Hey Everyone, Mitchell here from 45Drives. Welcome back to another weekly tech tip video. This week I’m going to be talking about using your 45Drives Storinator as a storage target for network video recording software.

Although your Storinator has the power to be both a local storage target and a high-performance server that can manage your video recording software, you may already have an existing infrastructure in place that handles things like camera management and local monitoring. If that’s the case your company may be in the position that it requires to store more footage than your current infrastructure will allow.

This is where 45Drives can come with a solution that is robust and easy to implement. And can confirm to whatever remote storage protocols your recording software of choice of supports, such as iSCUSI, SMB, NFS, or Amazon S3.

In order to set this up our server doesn’t need to run windows even if your infrastructure does. We pride ourselves on using open-source software to integrate into whatever environment you use for pure flexibility and customization.

We can get you set up with a storage pool in one of a few different environments that your video recording software will have no problem interfacing with, such as FreeNAS, CentOS or Ubuntu.
