Some data storage applications require greater performance than can be achieved with mechanical hard drives alone. All-flash systems can seem to be a solution, but often exceed budget, especially for large data sets. Storinator Hybrid Servers can solve this problem. Hybrids combine both drive types into a single system, to give you the performance of SSD's, with the capacity and affordability of HDD’s.
Using a Storinator Hybrid as a standalone server will offer increased performance while still providing affordable cost per terabyte of storage. SSDs provide low latency and high throughput. HDD's in arrays provide fast throughput for medium and large files. Tiered storage strategies, and moving metadata and journaling to into flash will extract the most performance your storage. Hybrid servers also bring massive performance improvements to Windows Server.

The Storinator hybrid was redesigned to better serve your Ceph and ZFS applications with a suite of hardware improvements and an improved drive ratio. The generation 2.0, F8X line of hybrids has a standardized HDD:SSD split, with 12 HDDs per row and 8 SSDs per row.
